MMA:30 Rankings: Top 10 Welterweight Movement
Over the past couple of weeks there have been a couple of significant fights among top welterweight fighters. First at UFC Fight Night 25, Jake Shields looked to get back on track after a loss to UFC champion, Georges St. Pierre, when he took on Jake Ellenberger in the headliner fight. Unfortunately for Shields, his night ended early when Ellenberger claimed a dominant TKO in under a minute, moving Ellenberger all the way up to MMA30 number six, one spot above Shields’ new home at MMA30 number seven and everyone else moving respectively.
This past weekend, Josh Koscheck brought his ‘A-game’ against former welterweight champion Matt Hughes, at UFC 135. Koscheck, after falling behind early in striking, too advantage late in the first round, overpowering Hughes, and earning a KO victory over the UFC Hall-of-Famer only a second before the bell. Koscheck’s performance slid him slightly above Nick Diaz to MMA30 number four.
