UFC 140 – Live Results 9 PM ET / 6 PM PT

UFC 140 Kicks off tonight with UFC light-heavyweight champion, Jon Jones' second title defense against former champion, Lyoto Machida. In addition, the card will also feature heavyweight Frank Mir looking to prove that his previous win over Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira was not a fluke when they meet in the cage for a second time. UFC veteran Tito Ortiz will take on the other Nogueira brother, Antonio Rogerio, Claude Patrick will battle Brian Ebersole to make a statement in the welterweight division and Mark Hominick and Chan Sung Jung will try to prove that they deserve to fight for the title against featherweight champion, Jose Aldo.

MARK HOMINICK VS. CHAN SUNG JUNG

Rd1- Mark Hominick swings, Jung counters landing on the button! Hominick falls backwards, Jung jumps and tees off and Herb Dean stops this fights seconds after it started!

Chan Sung Jung def. Mark Hominick by TKO 0:07 Rd1.

CLAUDE PATRICK VS. BRIAN EBERSOLE

Rd1- Fighters pawing out to find their distance. Ebersole shoots, Patrick stuffs, clinch in the center. Elbersole pushes to the cage, knee to Patrick's thigh. Claude pulls away from the cage, and then presses Brian into the fence. Patrick takes hold of a guillotine and sinks to the mat. Ebersole gives a thumbs up to warn that he's ok and he;'s free in Claude's guard. Patrick back to his feet avoiding any real damage. Inside leg kick by Patrick followed by a decent combination. Ebersole follows with a flury of his own backing Patrick into the cage as he finishes with a good body shot. Fighters clinch. Patrick reverses from the cage and finishes the round with one last shot. Close round, I'll give to Ebersole. 10-9.

Rd2- Patrick stalking early while Ebersole circles the cage perimeter. Claude with an attempted knee followed by a stuffed take-down attempt. Left by Patrick followed by a knee and clinch with Ebersole pressing Claude into the cage. Ebersole trying to drag Claude to the mat, but Claude doing a good job of staying on his feet delivering a short elbow in the process. Claude finally separates. Front kick to the body from Claude. Claude catches a kick and uses it to take Ebersole to the cage. Ebersole able to reverse, but not much else. Body kick from Ebersole. Claude lands a good shot, and another as Ebersole backs up and covers up. Claude shoots, but can;'t get it. Another close round goes to Claude 10-9.

Rd3- Ebersole shoots early, but Claude stuffs. Ebersole relentless and Claude finally goes down. Patrick defending well and finally stands taking no damage. Ebersole with a body lock picks Patrick up and drops him back to the mat in side control. Claude rolls to try and escape and Ebersole takes ahold of his back. Claude back to his feet, but Brian holds on to his back. Claude able to use the cage and spin out. Ebersole continues to try, and Claude uses the position to take Ebersole to the mat. Ebersole grabs hold of a choke, but Ebersole able to escape and jumps back to his feet and finally the fighters are both going at it. Claude with a combo, Brian shoots, stuffed. Claude with a gator roll, but not tight enough. Ebersole escapes that one as well. Another close round ends with Ebersole in Claude's guard. Let's go with a 10-10 for a draw!

TITO ORTIZ VS. ANTONIO ROGERIO NOGUEIRA

Rd1- Body kick from Tito and Tito dives in swinging. Uppercut from Tito. Tito shoots gets the clinch against the cage but can't complete the takedown. Knees to the thighs from Tito. Dirty boxing from both fighters in the clinch. Tito with another uppercut. Nog with a left hand that lands good. Tito covers up. Another left hurts Tito. Tito drops to the floor. Knee to the body from Nog. Tito on the ground covering to avoid the barrage from Nog. Nog into Tito's guard and the paces finally slows. Nog punishing Tito's body mixing elbows and punches. Tito covering seemingly waiting out the attack. Nog starting to slow down could be wearing out. Tito holding his face near his ear and the ref jumps into stop this one. Tito is hurt.

ANTONIO ROGERIO NOGUEIRA def. TITO ORTIZ by TKO 3:15 Rd1.

FRANK MIR VS. ANTONIO RODRIGO NOGUEIRA
Rd1- Big Nog attacking first. Nog shoots but is stuffed by Mir. Nog has the clinch against the cage and is tossing short rights. Mir reverses and throws a shot to the body and both fighters battle for positioning.  Mir trips Nog to the mat. Nog back to his feet and has Mir against the cage. Elbow from Nog. More elbows from Nog.  Knee from Nog and another elbow and Mir is hurt. Mir falls to the mat. Nog jumps and tees, Mir looks like he's out. Nog warned to not hit the back of the head. Nog slows down. Mir transitions to top position. Mir recovering. Mir takes hold of Nogs arm and twists a kimora. Nog trying to roll out. Mir holds on. Nog taps. This one is all over!

JON JONES VS. LYOTO MACHIDA

Rd1- Jones comes out crawling similar to his fight with Rampage. Now he stands tall. Jones throws the first kick. Leg kick for the Dragon. Leg kick from Bones. Dragon throws a left, bnut is blocked. Leg kick from Jones and Lyoto just misses a counter as Jones flees out. Spinning back kick misses for Jones. Dragon attacks again and Jones evades. Leg kick just skims Jones. Body kick from Dragon followed by a left. Jones is giving Lyoto tremendous respect right now by keeping the distance and a slow pace. Jones overhard right and then covers from the counter. Lyoto with a striking flurry. Another, and clips Jones with one of his strikes. Kick to the body from the Dragon who is looking very confident and comfortable. Head kick blocked by the Dragon. 10-9 for the Contender.

Rd2- Leg kick from Machida. High kick from Jones is checked. Jones trying to find his reach but the Dragon keeping his distance with his normal unorthodox karate stance. Leg kick from Bones. Dragon catches a kick and comes in with a flurry. Jones covers up and evades until the flurry stops. Big right by Jones lands square on the face. Jones shoots, picks up Machida and flattens him to the mat. Immediately with elbows from Jones. Machida is bleeding already. Machida trying to stand. Dragon has a big gash on his brow and the fight is paused momentary to check the cut. Fighters are reset to the same clinch that they left off. Knee to the body from Jones. Jones now breeming with confidence as Machida separates obviously uncomfortable. Machida throws a big left but is caught with a huge counter that drops him to the mat. Machida stands, but Jones locks the Dragon in a standing choke hold. Machida is asleep! Bones lets go directed by the ref and the Dragon drops to the mat!
